Product Import
Product Import copies a catalog into your store. You always see a preview first, and nothing is written until you click Start import.
Open Product Import
- Open Apps.
- Click Product Import.
The page has two tabs: New import and Import history.
Choose a source
Under Import from, choose one source.
YouCan
Enter the Store URL, for example https://mystore.youcan.shop.
Shopify
- Enter the Shop domain, the store's
myshopify.comaddress, for examplemystore.myshopify.com. - Enter an Admin API access token for that store.
Lightfunnels
In Store or product link, paste a product link to import that one product, or the store address to import the whole catalog. No Lightfunnels login is needed.
CSV file
- Click Download template to get a file with the right header row.
- Fill it in. The header row must use these column names:
- Required:
sku,name,price. - Optional:
description,compare_at_price,stock,category,slug,image_urls,collections. - For variants:
variant_sku,option1_name,option1_value,option2_name,option2_value,option3_name,option3_value.
- Required:
- Save it as CSV UTF-8 and choose it under CSV file.
Commas, semicolons and tabs all work as separators. To add several images in one cell, separate the links with |. For a product with sizes or colors, write one row per variant and repeat the same sku on each row. If none of your products have variants, leave the option columns out entirely. A file can hold up to 2,000 rows; split larger catalogs into several files.
The collections column places products in collections by handle. See Collections.
Another store
If you run several stores, choose one of them as the Source store. Only stores you still have access to are listed.
Currency
Prices are imported as they are unless you set a conversion:
- Source currency (optional): the three-letter code of the source's currency, for example
USD. - Exchange rate (optional): what one unit of the source currency is worth in your store's currency. It is required when you set a source currency, and must be greater than 0 and at most 1,000,000.
For Another store, the currency comes from the two stores' countries, so only Exchange rate is asked, and only when the two currencies differ.
If the preview detects that the source prices in a different currency and no conversion is set, it warns you. Go back and set the currency and rate if the prices would be wrong.
Preview and import
- For YouCan, Shopify and Lightfunnels, tick the box confirming you own the store or have written authorization from its owner.
- Click Preview import.
- Review the preview. It counts Products, Importable, Blocked and Warnings, and lists each product with its variants and images. A Blocked product is not imported; the preview gives the reason.
- Click Start import, or Back to change the source.
The preview expires at the time it shows. If it expires or was already used, run the preview again.
After you start, the page shows the job's progress: Queued, Importing..., then Import completed, Import completed with errors or Import failed, with the number of products Created, Failed and the Total.
Importing the same source again updates the products that source created last time instead of adding copies.
Import history
Import history lists your past imports with their Created/Failed/Total counts. Open an import to see Failed products and Warnings with the reason for each.
Permissions
Team members without permission to manage products can open the history but cannot start an import. See Team members.
