Product profitability
Profitability shows how much each product earns after everything it costs you. Use it to find the products that make money and the ones that lose it.
- Open Profitability.
- Pick a store, or leave All stores.
- Pick a period: Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, This month, Last month or Custom range. The default is Last 30 days.
Every amount is shown in your workspace's main currency, which appears in the column headers.
The summary line
The line at the top adds up the whole selection: Revenue plus Delivery fees collected, minus COGS, Delivery, Overhead and Ads, equals Profit. Click Show breakdown to see each term as a figure, with Revenue (gross) and Packaging. Profit also subtracts Packaging. Revenue (gross) includes the delivery fees your customers paid. ROAS under the line shows how much revenue your ad spend brought in. It shows a dash when there is no ad spend.
- COGS is what the goods cost you, taken from your purchases.
- Delivery is what the delivery companies charge you.
- Overhead is your operating expenses, shared between products by each product's share of revenue.
- Ads is the ad spend linked to the product.
A warning appears under the line when something could not be assigned to a product. It tells you when delivery cost or ad spend belongs to no product, when delivered orders had no matching delivery price or no price at all, and when some ad spend is missing an exchange rate. In that last case, click Add exchange rate. For the full picture of expenses, see P&L.
The product table
Each row is one product. Under the name you see where its cost comes from: From purchases, Default cost or No cost on record. The columns are Delivered, Returned, Revenue, COGS, Delivery, Delivery fee collected, Overhead, Ads, ROAS, Profit and Margin. A ⚠ next to Overhead or Ads means that figure is not final yet. Hover over it to read why.
Use Sort by to order the rows by profit or revenue, high to low or low to high. The table shows 50 products per page. Use Previous and Next to move between pages.
The cost receipt
Click a product row to open its cost receipt. It shows how each figure was built:
- Purchase lines: the purchases behind the cost, with Date, Supplier, Qty, Unit price and Currency. Click View purchase to open one. See Purchases.
- Delivery lines: each order's delivery cost and the Allocated part given to this product.
- Ad campaigns: the Spend of each campaign.
- The overhead share, with the Category total, Workspace revenue and Product revenue it comes from.
Click View expenses for this period to open the P&L for the same month.
Who sees what
Without Sees costs, revenue, costs and profit show as ••• and you cannot open the receipt. Delivery fee collected is always visible. The link View P&L appears only if you have both Sees costs and Sees expenses & payroll. Owners and managers can enter missing exchange rates directly in the banner at the top. See Invite your team.
