Monthly P&L

The P&L page is your monthly accounting statement. It counts every expense of the month, including advertising, and ends with your profit.

  1. Open P&L.
  2. Choose the Month. The page opens on the current month.
  3. Click Export CSV to download the statement as a spreadsheet file.

The page needs both Sees costs and Sees expenses & payroll. Without them it shows "You do not have permission to view the P&L." An owner can change these in Invite your team. All amounts are in your main currency. If some amounts could not be converted, a banner explains which currencies need an exchange rate. Owners and managers can enter the rate right there.

Waterfall (attribution)

The first block lists the month's figures, in this order: Revenue, Delivery fees collected, COGS, Packaging, Delivery, Overhead, Ads and Profit. It is the same calculation as Product profitability, added up for all your products. Two warnings can appear under it. One says part of your ad spend could not be assigned to a product. The other says some ad spend is missing an exchange rate, with a link to add one.

Expense categories

The table lists the month's expenses by Category with the Total of each: Advertising, Subscription, Fulfillment, Packaging, HR and Other. These come from the expenses you log. See Expenses. At the bottom you find:

  • Total expenses: all categories together.
  • Accounting profit: what remains after all your costs and expenses.
  • ROI: your profit as a percentage of everything you spent. It shows a dash when there is no cost to compare with.

Advertising

The Advertising total adds two things together: the spend your connected ad accounts sync automatically, and the advertising expenses you log by hand. Under the total you see them separately, as Synced and Manually logged. Hover over the ⓘ to read the rule. If you log by hand spend that the sync already brings in, it is counted twice. When a month has both, a warning asks you to check that you did not record the same spend twice.

The accounting profit here and the Profit in Profitability can differ, because the P&L counts every expense of the month.
