Connect Google Tag Manager

Once you save a container ID, your store loads the Google Tag Manager container on every page. You then add, change and pause tracking tags from your GTM account, without editing store code. The Growth, Pro and Enterprise plans include this tool.

Add the container ID​

  1. In the sidebar, open Pixels.
  2. On the Google Tag Manager card, click Open App.
  3. In Google Tag Manager ID, enter the container ID that starts with GTM-, such as GTM-K6XW7H. You find it in your Google Tag Manager account.
  4. Click Save GTM Settings.

When the save succeeds, you see Pixel settings saved successfully.

If you paste the whole GTM code, Zimam extracts the ID from it. A GA4 measurement ID, which starts with G-, is not accepted here; it goes in Google Analytics.

To remove the container from your store, clear the field and save.

Notes​

  • Zimam loads the container only. The tags that run on your store are the ones you publish in your GTM account.
  • A store holds one container ID; saving a new one replaces the old one.
  • The container runs on every page, including landing pages.
  • If you add Google Analytics or an ad pixel both in Zimam and in GTM, events can be counted twice. Pick one source per tool. See Pixels and tracking.
