Countries and currencies
Every store has one country, which you pick when you create it. The country sets your store's currency, the phone format it accepts, the list of regions at checkout, and the delivery companies available to you.
Available countries
| Country | Currency | Dial code | Accepted mobile numbers | Regions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Algeria | Algerian dinar, shown as DA or د.ج | +213 | 9 digits starting with 5, 6, or 7, such as 0550123456 | Wilaya and commune |
| Libya | Libyan dinar, shown as LYD or د.ل | +218 | 9 digits starting with 91 to 95, such as 0912345678 | Region and city |
A number is accepted with a leading zero (0550123456) or with the country code (+213550123456 or 00213550123456).
Pick your store's country
You pick the country in the Store Country field when you create the store, either at sign-up or when you create a new store from your store list. See Create your store.
- The country cannot be changed after the store is created. If you need another country, create a new store.
- If the Store Country field does not appear, only one country is available, and the store is created in it.
- At sign-up, the country is suggested from the country code of your phone number. You can change it before you create the store.
What the store country sets
- Currency — prices on your storefront and in the dashboard use the country's currency. There is no separate currency setting.
- Phone format — a customer's phone number is refused at checkout if it does not match the country's format, and so is your store phone number in Store settings when you change it.
- Regions — at checkout, the customer picks from your store country's regions: wilaya and commune in Algeria, region and city in Libya.
- Delivery companies — the Delivery Companies page lists only the companies that serve your store's country. See Delivery setup.
- Time zone — dates in alerts are shown in your store country's time.
The store country does not set your storefront's language. You set the language on the Language tab of Store settings.
